ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH
A very collectible Junghans from a time when quartz watches had more than a cheap piece of plastic inside them. The model is known as Megaquartz or Astra, this is a new old stock that was not sold in the 1970s, and there may be fine storage marks but nothing of significance. Made in Germany and top quality. Junghans cal 667.30 which was cutting edge, using the latest technology in micro electronics and mechanics and part of the history of quartz watch development. These movements seem to run for ever so long as they have a new battery fitted. It has a rather handsome silver dial with chrome batons and hands. Furnished with a day/date window, the day is in German so you will need to brush up on your linguistic skills, capped with a mineral glass crystal. The case is all stainless steel and a chunky square shape. Its original strap long since deteriorated so it is fitted on a period style mesh bracelet and adjust up to a large 8" wrist. This watch is in perfect working order and holding time very well. A great addition to any retro collection and a rare find that reflects the technology of its time and tells a little about history.
Top case to bottom 40mm, side to side (without crown) 36mm, thickness (crystal to back cover) 12.5mm.
